Anti-Bullshit Manifesto

For civil servants who’ve had enough of empty jargon, performative innovation, and systems that forget the people they’re built for.

  1. Purpose before hype
Solve real problems. If it doesn’t serve people, it’s just noise.
  2. Progress is outcomes, not buzzwords
Change is what improves lives, not what fills slides.
  3. Fix the culture, not just the tool
No tech can fix a broken team. Trust is the real platform.
  4. Pilot like you mean it
Try it to learn, not to show off. If it fails, say so, and move on.
  5. The public is the only shareholder
If people don’t get it, don’t trust it, or don’t need it: rethink it or forget it.
  6. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast
True agility is steady, clear, and human-paced.
  7. Clear the dust, often
Old rules and broken tools slow you down. Clean up to move forward.
  8. “No” protects the mission
Trends fade. Integrity lasts. Say no to stay true.
  9. Quiet work builds loud trust
You don’t need noise to matter. Integrity earns attention.
  10. Don’t automate the human out of you
Systems help. Empathy leads. Stay human. Always.
